Vorb Tv Episode 3

Postby Tama on Wed 3/Dec/08 1:51pm

Woot - episode three of Vorb TV already. In this episode we play stupid games with camera setups, catch up with Brett Frew and Matt Scoles, ride some epic singletrack on the Queen Charlotte Trail, take a look at the Corsair Maelstrom with Jono, check out the revamped downhill track at Signal Hill, Dunedin and wince at "Crash of the Week".

More information on the Vorb Queen Charlotte Trail ride for 2009 can be found here.

Thank you to Natcoll for getting behind and supporting this project, and for turning out talented video monkeys who can make all the moving pictures and sound and stuff dance together.

Thanks for the feedback, we're always learning something new so working on getting things more and more polished for each episode.

The rats nest of cables for the shoot is impressive

Great work, enjoyed seeing signal. Biggest place for improvement IMHO would be the camera angle changes, something about the timing or the way it was edited made them seem a bit awkward and unnatural to me. Each episode is definitely better than the last though.

:pmob: Nice work team
ClenchedTeeth - are you talking in general, or just about the Signal segment?

We've just uploaded a new version that should deal to that problem :)

No, sorry, I meant the camera angle changes when Tama is sitting on the couch, right at the start.

Yeah, what I forgot to mention is we were running a live mixing desk on that one and hadn't sussed out good switching cues yet - so what you saw was "live" rather than post-production edited

For the non technical of you what this meant was we had two identical cameras plugged into a video mixer (like a DJs audio mixer) which outputted directly to tape. One camera was tripoded, one was person operated and then we had another guy on the video mixer.

And yes, there is a long story about how we ended up with that setup
