The Locust Is Here

Postby Locust on Wed 18/Jun/08 10:18am

Helloo peoples of Vorb

I've been lurking for a week or two, thought I'd introduce myself - as you can see I am Locust, those of you who frequent the other two wheeled relm aka KB may already know me as bert_is_evil

I've been out on a total of two rides ever and have mastered the art of crashing into trees quite well, I'm now ready to move on to advanced skills such as staying upright on the bike and saying things like huck convincingly in casual conversation.

yes, quite.

Takes but a few moments to learn, but a lifetime to master!

Can't possibly comment on the BBQ thing...

Perhaps enthusiastic crashing novice would be a more appropriate term for my skills

Sweet! A fair few Wellingtonians on Vorb :)

There's a free guided tour at Makara Peak on the first Sunday of every month (see here), plus the PNP Club are running fortnightly social MTB rides every Sunday aswell. Here's this week's ride descriptions: http://www.vorb.org.nz/ftopict-80454.html

Sweet it looks like there's plenty going on in Wellington. I'm familiar with a few of the tracks at Makara from when I used them to train for an alpine running race a few years back but I bet they have changed a lot since then.

Knowing the tracks and knowing how to ride the tracks are two different things :D

I don't doubt that - I definitely don't know how to ride the tracks!
