Where Can I Buy Powerade Powder In Wellington?

Postby psychavoc on Thu 10/Jan/08 10:08am

As the title says :paranoid:

I could go around all the supermarkets and look for myself , but if someone knows which particular supermarket has Powerade in powder form, then that'll save me a whole lot of searching around town

I would imagine any larger supermarket would have it....
Or you could try ringing a few places if no one gives you an answer :)

They only ever seem to sell it in gross green flavour :(. It'd be awesome if you could get powdered red or blue flavour.

Are you sure you want powerade powder? There are other options out there, some of which I believe are probably better sporting drinks but with out the coke marketing budget...

It all tastes like arse, you gotta make it twice as strong as it says to if you want it to have any decent flavour.

Wish they did a blue one :(

Sorry, this wasn't very helpful, I've never seen it at a supermarket though?

I like the taste and my stomach is rather temperamental so I'd rather stick with what works for me

Leppin Enduro Booster, god I miss that stuff!

Any bike shop worth its salt should have it. And the Lemon Lime flavour is very similar to Powerade Yellow, plus I always found it less harsh on the stomach.

My $0.02

Did you check Thorndon yet Celia? I'll keep an eye out this way too - I think I might have got mine out here.

Haven't had a chance - been stuck on the windtrainer all this week. Might check out Oriental on the way to/from Mt Vic today though

The recommended addition rate will make a solution that will be absorbed the quickest. Adding the powder at twice the recommended rate is likely to make a sports drink that will not hydrate you as it should...

I like the blue as well... but now use Replace (the raspberry one). Most supermarkets seem to have the lemon/lime (only one I've ever seen as powder) - but it's pretty vile tasting :(

IMO - either keep buying the bottles of blue or try & sample some powders (eg replace & some others come in 1 serve sachets so you can try before buying a whole tub)

And probably give you cramps due to far too high concentration of sugar while racing. It's not raro wachtourak - it serves a functional purpose.

The physiologist who taught me about excitable tissues told me that, if anything, sports drinks come too concentrated and should probably be diluted before use .... - Drinking super-concentrated powerade is quite likely not at all good for you :0
