Tom Walkinshaw is a bully who believes rules do not apply to him.

His dealings with equity 'partners' and sponsors in a dying days of the Arrow F1 team were some of the most odious business dealing I have ever read about.

Relations with Jaguar disolved in a stinking shitpile when he switched engines between the XJ220 he developed for Jag and XJR-15 he was developing to sell through his own company.

If he flouts business rules willingly, what about the technical rules. Are 'his' Holdens front of grid because they cheat.

I would very much agree with Colin.

Studying touring cars for only about 35 years, there have been very few men who have so consistently been very very dodgy indeed in such a public way as Tom Walkinshaw.

Personally I do not think that his Holdens are blatantly illegal, the scrutineering is very thorough indeed.

But sharing data when two teams should be independent, ( where testing is severely limited under the rules) would be a typical Wlakinshaw trick.

Back when Schumacher won his first F1 world championship, he consistently won races due to fast pit stops allowing him to leap frog other cars.
The official Beneton line was that their V8 used less fuel.
In fact, the team had illegally taken a mesh filter out of the standardised refuelling rig, speeding up the pitstops measurably..
It was blamed on " an apprentice" and they got off scott free. Amazing.
When Walkinshaw Rovers won the world touring car championship, it was later shown that their inlet manifolds were illegal, but by then it was too late. I could write pages on the stuff he has done, and all of it is public record.

Eh wot??. at least now more than two or three cars can win.
Admittedly they are only pretend Fords and Holdens, but at least they have gotten away from the silly idea that mofdified production cars make the best racing.

After all, why should racing be defined by the limits imposed by ordinary driving :)

Meh. Most interesting racing i ever watched, was the Aussie production GT cup. Everything from EVOs, GT3s, Monaros, alsorts. To me, interesting racing is about pitting different cars, with different strengths and weaknesses against each.

For that reason, i find A1GP to be *yawn*
Only my opinion. Judging by the crowds a lot seem to disagree :)

The Gt cup was deliberately rigged. As part of the rules!

Weights were continually adjusted, as were rev and boost limits.
It made it kind of silly to build the cleverest car.

Lots of politics ensured that the "favoured" car won, just like a soap operas, or "lost" where the favourite characters survived, while the others were quietly recycled.
All about ratings, not about racing...
