Is it anything like the Y2K? Threatens to go off with a bang, but really just kind of fizzles in the end?

:eh:

Nah, they're fitted to some nissan avenirs. But without a turbo they're nothing to get excited about and the spec level of those avenirs is awful, they're commercial vans, not passenger cars.

In europe you can buy what is essentially a primera wagon with a turbo intercooled version. But not here damn it. :hmmm:

To be dreadfully generic, i'd say the engines probably pretty solid, and any problems would arise from the drivetrain/gear box.

That primera sounds like a go.

No actual problems with the diesel Avenir Experts, just they aren't anything near what I want.
It'd make a great work wagon, but it's too noisey and spartan for a passenger car.

Yeah I have one, the wagon with the YD22 diesel, a bit noisy but runs all day on the smell of an oily rag, very economical and reliable.
