Help With Adobe Premiere Pro - Video Types

Hey All

I just installed Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0 and tryed to import some video file. The file type that comes off my camera is *.AVI and when i try to say that the program say. "unsupported compression in file"

How can i fix this

Any help would be good as i want to learn how to use Adobe Premiere Pro instead of that window moive maker

You camera problem does motion jpeg which premiere I imagine won't support natively, you probably need to convert that to a proper avi first, WMM should do it or otherwise check out www.videohelp.com :)

Did you use the capture feature that Premiere has?

After I use it Premiere says "conforming video" I assume it's doing some sort of converting.
