Under brakes?

Got 2 feet dontcha? :D

my Lynx is a bastard for lift off oversteer...probably due to an (estimated) 70-30 front-rear weight distribution.
I meant the loud pedal, who uses brakes :eh:

Then again learning to trail brake in a FWD is rather handy

I looked at V8's but I'm too young to go through a mid life crisis :p

But in all seriousness, I had said that if I replaced my V6, it'd be with a V8. I just didn't expect it to be within the same year!

Smartass!

You'll have to give us a full rundown on how it goes, if I sell my R I should be able to afford a V8 before xmas.
Oh and yours is the one that was going dirt cheap at Mexted Mitsubishi eh?

Yeah one and the same. It was too good a deal to pass up eh!

I had also considered the V8 that's for sale down your way, that's what got me thinking about them.

From a stand still, it doesn't seem as quick off the line as my RA, it doesn't have quite the same feeling of being thrown into the back seat. That's not to say it's a slouch though, it feels more similar to an Integra Type R I drove a week or so ago; in that it just seems to reach loose your license calmly :0 And without a loud exhuast, my audible cues are gone for the sense of speed.

Although it's a bit heavier than the RA, it doesn't feel it; it feels balanced and very drivable. The suspension is a little firmer surprisingly, possibly due the age of the shock fliud compared to the old car (51000kms vs 125000) but it sticks like shit to a blanket. I'd love to take it on a closed road, or track to try its potential.

In the 6 speed box, 1-5 seem geared slightly shorter than in my RA, but with the 6th at 110, I'm sitting on about 3000rpm, vs 3600 in the 5 speed RA, which had no noise deadening, so you knew the revs were getting up there. And the speedo is accurate too! GPS and a 'your speed' sign both confirmed.

So the first 24hrs and 850km gets a double thumbs up and the Chickenman Seal of Approval.

I'm looking forward to driving it home to CHCH for xmas :D

Kaikoura to Cheviot.......one of the most entertaining pieces of road in NZ if you get a clear shot at it.

It must look good next to Nordy's wagon, it matches better than the other one did!
