Yeah you might be right,the ones I tried were pretty old. Chocettes were cheap and went through plywood well enough.

A: During the day, and only on the road because the council changed the paking lots to 60minute parks when most lectures are 2hrs+

B: probably had something to do with it

C: stereo wasn't big, and didn't look much better than stock

as for the last comment, I dont do laps of town, and I usually have the sound off or down and windows up in 50/60/70k zones, especially around South Auckland.

main reason for having a decent sound system is for use when regularly traveling to Cambridge to see the missus, long lonely trips get boring without it, I'm not one of those asswipes that sit in carparks or suburbia at night blaring them for the sake of it

It was better than stock, so had value, you had a sub and amp, so it had value to some piece of shit

for your next system, get it installed by a pro (they have a few tricks tha make stuff hard to take) it looks like you amp and sub were just roling round in the boot (ie cut the wires and 30secinds its gone) ALWAYS take your face plate off and take it with you

but I am gutted for you, as it sucks to have some asswipe rip off your hard earned

Sub and amp were hidden in the boot... and wires weren't cut, they were literally torn from the system. despite the linesmans pliers left sitting on the boot floor next to them...
