You dont seem to get much resistance with 70psi in the tyres :D

Had a great ride tonight. Using 42:16, seems about right on the flat, actually it feels obscenely fast on the flat.
Its weird, because you're riding on the drops, its like you are on this indesctucticon of a roadie, that you can take anywhere on any surface. Its pretty cool, although Im still building confidence in the tyres.
What are those tires, conti twister 45c's????
I started 32:16, then moved to 42:16 - and found it good for commute/traffic type stuff. Now on 45:16 and finding the downs waaaaaaaay more fun (less painful), and the ups not that much more of a pinch.

Mungo's are O for awesome :p and conti sportcontact tyres help. offroad = 32 twisters

What is this cleaning you speak of?

I've heard washing bikes wears them out ;)

They have just released them in 42 (conti twisters that is).
Will have some soon. They fit the Roadrat.

I've been looking for tyres that fit somewhere between the 29er big volume >52 and crosser skinny <35. Seems there are Ritchey or IRC semi-slicks at around 40-42 and panaracer Fire Cross full knobs at 45. And the Contis. But not a lot else.

Dented... you realise that bike of yours is the true original '29er'... a dirt racer with wacky bars and skinny nobblies? Its only since the bandwagon get rolling the 29er MTB stuff came about. That bike of yours brings a tear of joy to my eye - bringing the fun back to normal trails everywhere.

And not only because I copied you! :D

I have been riding it a lot lately in and around Tauranga, loving it. Will get to Rotorua some time soon with it, looking forward to that.

I like looking at the photos of your bikes Nick, nobody can accuse you of not riding them enough. Cleaning on the other hand . . .
