Giant Stp 0

Postby Mike.G on Fri 30/Dec/16 2:26pm

10 years ago I had a Giant STP 0 that I really loved. I want to get back into this type of riding, so I jumped on Trademe assuming there would be loads of these bikes around for a good price. To my surprise there are very few, and most of them are the lower end models (1 and 2) and look rather worse for wear. Any chance of still picking up a good condition STP 0 these days, or am I being unrealistic?

I think that most people with an stp 0 now probably aren't looking to sell them, good little bikes, nice spec and too old to be worth that much,

I hope you find one, but you will need to keep your eyes open

The STPs are amongst the favourite bikes that I have ever owned.

I had a 1 and a 2 with a lot of upgrades. Hope you find one!

Thanks, it's thin pickings out there....I'm patient enough I guess. I absolutely adored the STP 0 with the Pike fork. Had a single ring on the front with the original gearing on the rear, and the bike was fantastic at such a wide array of riding styles.

Trademe is slim pickings all round really. Seems to be Facebook groups are where it's at. Which is annoying as its a bit like the old mountainbike.co.nz listings.
You scroll down and down and down. I don't know why they don't put the search box in for the mobile version of the page.

On the iphone app you can search by going into the group and searching. Theres an STP listed in December on NZ mtb sales and a few through the year on bike shelf.

Evidently no one is manning those pages, as my request to join is still unanswered.

Not mine, but I spotted this while looking for something else.

You'd probably want to strip it to frame and start again, but that's half the fun.
