What's Hot In The Way Of Dropper Posts

Postby tricky on Fri 6/Nov/15 10:19pm

Whats the wisdom of the crowd when it comes to dropper post reliability these days? Got impatient waiting for a suitable post to come up 2nd hand and recon I'm gonna end up buying up a new one, however pretty much every make and model has been bagged for reliability issues in online forums at some point or other. Have a KS Lev on one bike already and like the ergonomics, but got it 2nd hand for $250 - a bit more cautious shelling out 600+ for a new one.

Thomson. Ten trillion positive reviews vs the very very occasional dud which will happen with any product. Buy one from one of the big online stores like Wiggle or CRC, as they're generally good to deal with if products have issues after purchase.

Link?

Got a KS Integra recently.
Works great, just wished the lever actuation force wasn't that high but Reverbs aren't much better.
RRP of ~$580 and stealth Reverbs are just as much.

It's hard to google revelation, RS keeps getting in the way, I second request a link.

Anyone tried a 9point8?

I got sick of the maintenance cost of my reverb. KS Lev ftw!

For outlasting and home servicability the clunky ole gravity dropper still wins. My Reverb is nicer - but has already needed a shop service in 4 months of riding...

KS Lev is supposed to be good - but I have no experience with them.

The instruction manual was a bit odd.
Told me not to affix housing in place as I'll need to move it later.
I did so anyways and there was no moving of it later on in the installation.
Also tells you not to cut the offcut end of the cable after securing the locking end to the right distance, then the next step clearly shows it being cut.

Sorry, a few months since my purchase and the NZD has tanked since... So... Um... Link-wise, I'm a bit short

Never read the instructions for the ones I've fitted, none have failed...

Specific LEV integra manual?

Most of the reverbs I've done I've had to do twice, awful things :hmmm:
