Everyday I'm Shufflin'

WTF is up with 'Shuffle' on ANY device, that is supposed to be random, but seemingly appears not to be?

Why do the same bands/albums always seem to come up??? disproportionately, in my mind, certain bands and/or albums arrive on my listening doorstep when listening to my phone on random.

Conspiratorially, IS there something programmatic that clever geeks have embedded into some albums and not others, to make them show up more often??? or is there a 'popularity contest' going on within the programme that remembers shit you seem to chose occasionally / by date/ proportionally. I've heard of such things in iShit but is the same sort of mindreadingcontrolfucking going on in my GoogleDeVice

AFAIK,it's a hangover from cd players. Designed as to not wear out the mechanism too early in its life. Rumour has it that the manufacturers never bothered to update the algorithm when flash memory took over as the storage medium of choice. [ citation needed ]
