Retro Season Is Upon Us

Postby slowMTB on Mon 8/Jun/15 6:48pm

Hi peeps,

Well winter is upon us and it is time to dust off the retro machinery for those fine warmish afternoons. Myself and my daughter have made a start. It is all pretty low key and involves many pies and latte's if that is your thing

Post your over / under whelming enthusiasm below... :)

I'm on for that, but I think full period fluro lycras are much more embarrassing than onesies. I'd also suggest bringing along a crank position mointor, clearly no thought was put into the position of those cranks in either photo shoots. ;)

Photos look beautiful though

Rule #26 // Make your bike photogenic.
When photographing your bike, gussy her up properly for the camera. Some parameters are firm: valve stems at 6 o’clock. Cranks never at 90 or 180 degrees. Others are at your discretion, though the accepted practices include putting the chain on the big dog, and no bidons in the cages.

Does this count? The Nelson retro fun ride a couple of weeks back... where I happened to win the prize for the 'Most Dapper Chap'. The ladies were swooning I can tell you.

There's a commuter near me with an equestrian helmet, would suit.

There's a portly chap out a bit in Welly, often on different road bikes, always testing the bounds of the same or similar lycra get up each time I see him. I'll try a snap when I see him. Definitely rocking some older retro road bikes though.

Or you could just put a teacosy over your helmet?
