Southern Alps Mtb Stage Race

Postby RHR_Rob on Fri 6/Mar/15 8:43pm

I got quite excited about this then i saw it has 23,000m of climbing over 7 days !!!! that to me is serious Elite level climbing, entry a bit steep as well but thats to be expected.

Day 5 looks a goodie at 5400m over 123k

would love to do it even just for the ride but your going to have to be a bit of a machine to beat the cut offs i sure will be in there.

It does look pretty good doesn't it?
It's a lot of riding alright.

I hope they get plenty of entries, be great if it attracted plenty of overseas visitors.
It's a bit beyond my capabilities I think, but one day maybe.

Save your money and do a Brevet instead. The GSB is much better value (free!) and has some awesome riding, plenty of climbing and great company.

True but you have to find your own food and accommodation each night.
