Cellphones And Micro Sd Cards

Postby Scotty on Thu 6/Nov/14 8:23am

I have a phone with a maximum recommended SD slot of 32 gigs. What will happen if I chuck a 64 in there, will it work or make my phone like a slow laggy peice of poo?

I found, with my camera at least, they dont work with cards bigger than what they're specced for.

From memory I thought the bigger ones were actually a slightly different format - SDHC or something?

I don't know either, but that doesn't stop me offering an opinion. I'd suspect the phone would either not see anything or just see only the first 32GB of the card

SDSC up to 2gb
SDHC 2-32gb
SDXC 32gb-2tb

so yeah, if you phone only supports SDHC (max 32gb) it won't talk to a SDXC card (>32gb) at all

the obvious fix is to buy a nice new phone to wrap around your SDXC card :satan:

Yeah. Moto g.
The old model is the same apart from smaller screen and better battery life if that's important.

didn't one of the flavours (4g) of the mk1 also have dual sim slots (damned handy when overseas!)

ahh - seems it's an option on the mk2 as well, just not a lot of NZ vendors have them (mainly the single sim model)

DigiParallelImports has the dual sim G2. I've found them good to deal with.

In terms of the original query the g1 and g2 seem to only take 32gig micro SD, and the x doesn't take micro SD at all.

Processor capacity and speed are way less then what I've had in my last 2 phones. But I guess speed / lagginess is what you are used to.
