Men's Downhill - Who's Going To Win?

Postby Scotty on Wed 3/Sep/14 7:46am

Put list twenty deep on the wall, put on a blindfold and throw a dart at it. That's probably the best way to pick your winner in the Men's competition right now. Anyone in this list could take the win on the day, the men's field is that deep and talented.

Ratboy is on fire and at the height of his powers. Troy Brosnan has been consistent all season. Blenky has either been on or just off the podium consistently for the past two seasons - will it be his year?

The you've got Sam Hill leading the old buggers brigade, he's been written off before but proved everyone wrong late in the season. Minnaar, Atherton, Gwin have had seasons they'd like to improve on. The fire to win is there.

I want Blenkinsop to win but I reckon Hill will take it. Mad form right now.

It depends how the track is taped, if it's really wide and heaps of lines then I think the older guys with a bit more experience and race-craft do better, especially Hill with his out there line choices, but if it's a bit more one line point and shoot and ride it as fast as possible I think the likes of Bryceland and Brosnan are tough to beat at the moment, look at Windham...

I want Mr Hill to take it out, I don't think he will but it would be awesome if he did.

Bryceland gets my vote. I just hope he doesn't take 10 years to win the World Champs like his mentor, Peaty.

Minnaar is hax as at world champs, he'll probably roll on the threepeat

But seeing as there's a chance of rain on Sunday my money is on Hill
