Vorb Leaderboard Pretty Maps Update

Postby Rik on Wed 27/Aug/14 3:13pm

Hello you wonderful (deranged) hill climbers (and descenders)

I have just released the latest round of updates to the vorb leaderboards, pretty maps.

Now when to look at the leaderboard, each riders time links to a new page showing more details of the riders time.

The new riders time screen maps the course showing the start and end points. If you're interested the red circles are the zones that your GPS must hit in order for the system to pick up your time from the uploaded GPX file.

You can animate your ride along the route using the controls at the bottom.
As you can see XCguys 65lap race pace is clearly ahead of my own 1-lap hot lap pace, and is accelerating out of the hairpin before I can even see it.

Unfair to compare yourself against the fastest time for this course? Click the riders name in the leaderboard on the right to compare yourself with a more realistic opponent. You can even compare yourself with yourself, but every time I try that it finishes up a dead heat.

Maybe we need a party mode? where we can see everyone battle the course.

Hours of entertainment watching the races. Hope you enjoy it!

Let me know if you interested in setting up a course or leaderboard.

All Hills?

What about the down hills? I'm waiting for it to dry up a bit more so I can go and set up a Flying nun leaderboard

Good work with the animation Rik
I see Strava must have got wind of what you've done and furiously worked to catch up because yesterday they released the same feature!

My comment was made on my assessment of Old Dyers (lower down) which was a slippery slimy mess then deposited me on my head Wednesday night. :(

Inspired by how dry Bowenvale and Kennedy's Bush are I went down Old Dyers last night and found only one small section awful. KB is at the stage where it's malleable and not sticky and could do with traffic to flatten the hoof prints before they dry.

The new Skyline Gravity park in Vegas is a perfect candidate for this
