The last Grand tour of the year. Same rules as before but no short bussing will be allowed. Teams of less than 9 riders will be disqualified
No points will be awarded for the first stage (Team Time Trial) but rider selections will be closed before the start. If one of your riders crashes on the first day you will not be allowed to replace him.
Team selection:
Click the "Pick your riders" button above and select the members of your vorb fantasy race team. Next to each riders name you will see the riders ranking. As you select riders you will see your total team size and strength updated below the team rider list. Your team must have 9 riders with a combined strength ranking of 9000 points (or less). The event start list (from procyclingstats) has not been finalised so we recommend you check back as close to the start date as possible to make sure your selections are still valid or if one of your favorite riders has been added to the startlist. As soon as the race starts, team selections will be closed and no further changes will be allowed
To keep things interesting, in addition to selecting a team, you are allowed to choose a new stage winner every day. 25 bonus points will be awarded if you select the winning rider. The rider does not need to be on your team. If you want to keep your stage winner selection for more than 1 day, you do not need to do anything, your existing choice will be used each day until you do change it. There is a text box at the bottom that gets posted along with your daily selection. Please fill that in with a reason why you think your choice will win, or just use it to talk smack.
Scoring:
Points are awarded for the finish, bonus points are awarded for the sprints and king of the mountain competitions.
30 points are awarded to the first finisher down to 1 point for 30th place
Up to 10 riders at the Intermediate sprints will be awarded points. If the stage is classified as a sprint stage bonus points are awarded to the top 10 riders in the finish line sprint
