I want to put 203mm discs on a Giant Trance SX - what adapters do I need?

203mm post to post, front and rear.

Is there such thing as post to post rear?

yes there is, generally identical to post to post front, so in this case it sounds like you need 2x post to post 203mm adapters

Will a 203 fit in a trance sx, I would've thought they'd be limited to a 180 :eh:

Unless you know for sure/have them fitted already (in which case I'll STFU) I'd make a phone call to your local giant dealer and see what they say

- Didn't cross my mind couldn't find anything online except it does appear a lot of people have 203 and 180 on them - so probably right. Will check.

203mm rear rotors are overkill for a trailbike.
You'll end up with less modulation though you'll have more skids.

I'll be putting it down downhill tracks - that will be its life for the most part, can you explain what you mean by modulation?

Your ability to control the rear brake.
From a feathery safety scrub of speed to oh-crap-I'm-gonna-die emergency stop.
There will be a finer line between skidding (though how much fun it is) and controlled braking.

203mm rotors put more strain on your rear triangle and as mentioned before it's still a trail bike rather than a full-on DH rig, it might not be designed to handle it.

My 2c.

You bought a Trance specifically to ride DH tracks?

No I'm putting on larger rotors so I can ride specifically Cross Country tracks - the flatter the better - with big climbs - need a lot of braking power when climbing.

Oh good, dragging the brakes uphill will make you much stronger. For a minute there I thought you were planning a life of DH for an innocent trail bike.
