Bands You Want To See Live.

Postby dwgknz on Fri 2/May/14 3:26pm

One for Friday afternoon.

Are there any bands that you really wished you'd seen live? I can go through my music and be happy that there's only one or two bands that I haven't seen, mostly due to having lived in London for nearly 10 years.

However there's a few dead artists and bands I wished I'd seen live like Elliot Smith and Nirvana, some more obscure bands like Thinking Fellas Union and Sufjan Stevens and some bands I listened two in the 90s such as the Chillis and Rage.

Then theres a whole lot of bands and festivals I would have liked to have gone to in the lates 60s like Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock, but that's kind of a recent thing.

Tool, again (and again). :)

I wish I'd gone up to Auckland when Pink Floyd visited in the mid 80s.

Led Zepp would have been cool to see too!

I'm not sure I'd go to see Metallica again, but seeing them do Orion in Auckland a few years ago was mint (maybe helped by James keeping his mouth shut!!)

Seen Tool last year and Smashing Pumpkins on their Zero tour.
Wouldn't mind seeing The Cure if they ever return, and Greenday, not for the music, but for the reputation of an awsome interactive experience with a band that lets their fans join in on stage!!!

Not a lot these days, I have been lucky enough to catch a lot of contemporary acts I really want to see.
Only band that has played here a bit that I've always missed for one reason or another is Tool.

A few that haven't made it down this ways though...

Neurosis
Immolation
Gorguts
Yob
Antediluvian
Portal
Esoteric
Autopsy

Not a band as such, but I regret getting a concussion from a a race crash on the day that I had tickets to see Lou Reed back in the 1980's. I also regret fubarring my bike in the process. In a word, it was...Viscious

Yes, I'm that guy.

Saw them in '81 at the height of the big suit era. In fact the show was filmed for the STOP MAKING SENSE doco. Totally worthwhile.

Mastodon is at the top of my list
Drive By Truckers again. I'd quite like to do the road trip follow them round on tour in the southern US.
I would go see PJ Harvey... missed her last time
