Sure there are some foods that allow more nutrients out when cooked - but most don't.

raw food is all about preserving the beneficial gut enzymes that come with food (and the micro-nutrients not considered when 'they' make supplements) -these can be stripped with cooking, heat or processing. Cooking originates from social [human] traditions not because it's the best way to extract nutrients. As always it's about moderation - life is about being pragmatic too.

the whole 80/10/10 diet is another religious expression from gurus as far as I'm concerned. There are useful points, but there are unfounded ones as well. It's certainly a profitable industry... These guys rely on being catchy and different to be persuasive, so sometimes they just pull facts out their arse, sometimes they filter things to suit their catchphrases. It makes more sense than atkins, but it's not the complete picture IMO

Unlike Chicken, which is likely to extract all of your nutrients when consumed raw..

I'm working on becoming a vegetarian.
I'm at phase 2 now. I only eat animals that eat plants, with the exception of fish that eat fish...I still eat them, preferably dipped in batter and cooked in animal fat.

Just remember ride needs are different from race needs. Rides can be less concerned with speed of delivery.

:withstupid:

but its a critical mistake to change foods for racing if you haven't used them before. and if you want to race hard and fast then you need to train hard and fast (at least some of the time ) so the food needs would be the same = ie fast delivery of CHO
