Wakatipu Trails (and A Cam Question)

Postby GSVNoFixedAbode on Tue 14/Aug/12 7:45pm

Just a heads up: the trails around the Wakatipu basin are quite impressive now. There's a well defined route between Queenstown and Arrowtown, with some superb trails just about complete alongside the rivers. I did a couple of quick summary videos the other weekend:
Queenstown to Frankton
Beside Shotover and Kawarau

Dashware used to overlay GPS info on the clips, and the camera was a cheap little 640x480 thumbcam (MD80 clone). Time to move up slightly on the equipment methinks. There's no way I'd drop $500 on a GoPro: the current camera cost me $50 about 2 1/2 years ago. I've seen 1080p/30fps cameras recently for about $US50, "808 keychain" types but don't know how they'd go on a bike. Anyone here tried them out?

Cheers,
G.
