Criterium Du Dauphine

Postby Tugboat on Sun 3/Jun/12 11:25pm

Prologue is on now LIVE on Sky Sport 1...

Luke Durbridge has set a blinder as one of the earlier starters. Six seconds quicker than Cadel Evans and 5 seconds faster than Tony Martin.

Stage six is looking like the queen stage and should give a good early indication of whose form is on track for July...

I honestly don't know who to pick so I'll take a stab and say Sammy Sanchez.

I thought Colombiere was a HC?

Ratings for hills climbs are variable depending on their position in the stage and the overall race. And the side they are climbing it from is significantly shorter than the side the other. I was living in Morzine last European summer so amped to watch them on all the climbs and downhills I used to do. Joux-Plane is steeper than most other Alpine climbs, will sort things out

Wow! Cuddles dispels any doubt about his form after an early season dogged by illness, by taking out the first stage.

My pick for the overall Sammy Sanchez... Dead and buried nearly 24 minutes down, suffering suspected broken ribs in a crash and unlikely to start stage 2. :(

He had sore ribs too from his punch up with Bruyneel :)

TdF should be entertaining to watch with the Frandy vs Bruyneel saga

AS mentioned he was looking to stage 6 to "test himself", so perhaps putting himself out of GC contention so early on will allow him to do so, unmolested? Who knows.

He looked to me like he was riding faster than those around him on that final climb. Maybe lousy bunch position at the base of the climb, maybe a dropped chain (LOL...).

I was super impressed Evans stayed away. His wee threesome looked to me like they wouldn't hold that gap.

You reckon this could be the biggest bluff of all?
