New Zealand’s Alison Shanks has picked up a gold medal in the women’s individual pursuit at the track cycling World Cup in Cali, Colombia.
In the final, Shanks blitzed Britain’s Wendy Houvenaghel, winning by five seconds. Shanks completed the 3km distance in a time of 3:28.994, which equates to an average speed of 51.676km.
