Where can I find out about amateur races in Chch and around Nz.

Dates, location, entry info etc.........

Is there a dedicated website. Also i would be interested in helping out/volunteering.

Gravity Canterbury will be running numerous races generally from late september through till december. They'll post it up online on their website here as well as on their FB page here

Key news from the AGM is that Gravity and Bike Methven are jointly hosting Nationals SI Round 3, being run at Mt Hutt on 20-21 January 2012. We’re moving there because parts of the Living Springs DH track may not be back in action by then. Mt Hutt will be a great track and location, and we are looking forward to working with Mark Johns, Cam Bisset and crew on getting that event planned.

Attached are all the events in Chch over the start of summer.

Not normally required for club races but If you have em wear em, personally I wouldn't race or ride with out at least elbow pads and knee pads mainly for fact I'm gumby and crash... a lot

nah im too poor. I have to say I disagree with compulsory protective gear rules but I'm sure its been discussed heaps here already. all i like is helmet and kneepads. Im light so when I crash I usually just roll out. I dont even like wearing gloves coz they stink.
I live down south now so was keen for nationals in wanaka queenstown etc but not anymore.. $500+ for brace i know i dont even need. wtf
