Want A Port Hills Leaderboard For 2011/12 ?

come on Rik share us yer times :satan:

been thinkin about whether to do a 2011/12 season leaderboard. my heart has not been in it because of:
1) earthquake related crap roads/closures
2) want a break from all the board updating

however, spring is only around the corner and that's the time I've enjoyed the previous seasons the most, setting slow times initially then enjoying tracking the improvements.
my aim was to develope a leaderboard website over winter where you can update your own times, however that ain't happened. I could start a leaderboard climbs thread where you post your times, with no leaderboard table initially but then try and get my a into g and enter the times retrospectively... or just go back to the old way of doing things ...or maybe the leaderboard thing has run it's course and I should let it die quietly..?

if I did start it up again what would the climbs list be?
- obviously Lyttleton Evans is out
- there was discussion of combining Teddington > Gebbies Bastard to make a long one too

sufficiently hurty for sure - still think you should add purau/monument though, the pedal around the bays to get there is a great warmup :satan:

It'll get all you lazy bums off the couch and up into the hills to find your fitness again. You know, the more I think about it the more I want to do it. Right, I better get onto it then...

Summit Rd (Sat 6th Aug) is closed at top of Mt Pleasant. The cones are across the road at the top of Mt P stopping access down the hill to Evans.
Broke the rules and rode down to have a look and they aren't kidding.
Rocks all over the place down Evans toward Sumner. This is all new debris and wasn't there 2 weeks back.
My Sumner resident mate reckons its not the result of blasting, just last weeks shakes.
You wouldn't want to be riding up there with this lot coming down.
Scarey, didn't bother riding back the way I had come.

They're using dynamite on the Sumner - Evans road to blast unstable rocks. They access the rocks from the Godley Head road and have a guy sitting in a car with binoculars on the Evans-Mt Pleasant road looking out for idiots riding up Evans who could get hit by rocks. Stay off this road please. It's okay to ride from Mt Pleasant to Evans and back up again - according to the binoculars guy.
