Mt Te Aroha

What's the current status regarding access to the Mt Te Aroha road from the locked gate to the sumitt? Years ago (late 90's) there was a number to call to ask permission, but most people (me included) just jumped the gate & rode on to the top to enjoy the view.

Any info much appreciated.

just call the Visitor centre there, thay want to promote mt biking there
