I've done the Peace dash. 2 years of the good times on mine.
One piece of advice I do have is sort out the rear wheel retention system. If it's a quick release system get a Shimano QR in there asap, Deore level or better, and crank the shit out of that sucker. If it's bolt up, like mine was, you'll want to put a couple of screws in the threaded hole in front of the dropout slot (so that the bolts are running front -> rear on the bike and hitting the axle) to stop it slipping forward - then crank the bolts up quite tight too.
I didn't do either of those in time and absolutely munted my dropouts. A Shimano QR saved me in the end but I had to give it a good dose of 'the beans' to get it tight enough, pain in the ass really.
