this is what Velocite claims - take a look at the article. It states two reasons...

This is what was said:

"true aero profiles within the maximum allowable limits as set by the UCI" and has "unsurpassed lateral stiffness matching, or exceeding the stiffness of non-aero high performance road frames, at no significant weight premium. Until now, gaining true aerodynamic benefits and at the same time achieving superior frame stiffness was difficult, with designers having to make a choice between the two."

That "no significant weight premium" whilst only 250gm is still 25% over the really light stuff out there...

Lewis has been trying to find someone to build that design for several years (obvious updated with bb30 and tapered front now). Geo not much use to most people. Velocite very good at making big claims but less fussy on fact checking
