So what is Super D?

A Super D race is best described as a Downhill Cross-Country race. It includes little technical elements of downhill and has some pedalling to even the field. Any bike will do for a Super D race, but this category of racing is where the all-mountain/trail bikes with 4 to 6 inches of travel can really excel.

Special thanks to our sponsors…

I think I'll only do ok in the Super D if it has plenty of U, and only any good in the Super U if it has a whole lot of D.

Great to see modern format events like this being promoted, especially in Wellington.

How far in advance (if at all) will the course be made public? And what level of technicality can we expect. For example Grom Track is hard xc, but from the description above it may still be above the comfort level of the target audience? Any clues at this stage?

Well done again.

The track used will pretty much be the Ridgeline track.
Start at the summit, finish down by skills area. Eazy Pezy :)

Thanks Big D. That gives us a reasonable idea of the terrain. Nice one.

Is it going to be a "how many runs can you do" or timed event? Looking foward to racing a track so many of us ride everyday :D

Any more details available about this event? Any chance someone can put up a course map for those of us who are still wondering if it is beyond our skills?

I can't see anything more about it on the Welly MTB site (obviously doing too many other good things like digging and running events). :)
