Here's an issue not discussed yet but relevant to this thread. Too much drink = need to piss. Stop to piss and you lose your bunch. I remember really needing to piss during a BM8 race a couple of years back but the pace was on. I tried really hard to piss myself but I just couldn't do it  I thought it very strange at the time as the urge was there, but for some reason the plumbing was faulty and I just couldn't. I finished with a really sore bladder!

so how many bidononons to piss yourself then Al
New thread for the Bushman.

Thinking about this some more.....you aiming to complete in 6 hrs? Then you should strap a 6L container to a rack and use a straw. Sorted

Or drink 4.5l immediately before the start, that way you only need to carry 2 bottles.

So training for the rest of the month involves practising pissing yourself while cycling -- and then you're set for ironman as well. :)

650-750ml per hour, method of carrying is up to the individual. Do like the idea of the large straw and sipping from the lake especially now that we know roadies can't pedal and pee at the same time. How ever I think as the first lap is on our own I'll use the camel + 2 bottles with heed in, a gel flask and stop for a butter chicken pie at the BP when I go past.
