Tricycle Restoration

Postby scatter on Wed 11/Aug/10 4:42pm

Here she is (minus her front wheel).

Her name is Maude, she's a Healing Loline Tricycle and she was born somewhere in the late 70's/early 80's.

She's been a bit neglected over the years but she's come to me for some tender loving care

The first step will be to attempt a clean up of the front rim with a scouring pad and some Autosol.
Unfortunately, the rim is a bit pitted so I might be fighting a battle I can't win here.

Never fear....the magical Cycling Trading Company here in Christchurch have a new rim for me if I need it.

The old Dunlop Roadsters that the tricycle came with are toast so I found me some Kenda white wall tyres to replace them

The front wheel isn't looking so hot so I gave up and got stuck into one of the rear wheels.

Here are some before and afters

Autosol is damn fine stuff... but even it might have trouble bringing that front rim back from the dead!!

Looking good, cant wait to see the finished beast!!
