I think it was poor of the departing employee to tell you to think about it over the weekend but otherwise I can't blame the shop for not wanting to take a bike back because you didn't have a clue what you were after.

kneemick wrote: The afternoon I got the Rockhopper I went back to the shop saying I didn't like it and their response was to ride it over the weekend and see how I felt about it after that (it was a Friday). On the Monday morning I was sitting in the car park waiting for the shop to open as I hadn't changed my mind about it, so essentially I was hoping the shop would take the bike back and I would get some alternative (there was no opportunity to test ride either bike prior to purchase, not even in the car park).
Hey, it's not pompous shit, it's my reasoned opinion. I'm not saying the shop gave him great service - it certainly doesn't look like it was top drawer - but I still maintain that there might be two sides to this story, or is that too unreasonable a POV for you to digest?Kazmeistyr wrote:Oli wrote:I'm not trying to be a prick here, but generally I recommend choosing a bicycle before buying it - did you just randomly grab the Rockhopper without looking at it at all? What a load of pompous shit.
If the LBS had done the right job he wouldn't have left the shop with the Rockhopper in the first place. And without being allowed even a test spin around the carpark, i do not think it is unreasonable for him to return later that day unsatisfied and expect the oppurtunity to at least swap or try another bicycle - after all, he was spending hundreds of dollars.
