Good Sorts At R&r Sport

Postby big_d on Tue 22/Dec/09 1:19pm

The Wellington Mountain Bike Club would like to thank R&R Sport for coming to the party with a $50 voucher for club member John Whale.

John had a serious crash on Saturday at Long Gully's Jawbone track when his forks snapped on him while landing a jump. He's on the mend with some awesome trophies to remember the crash by as the day is a blur to him - 30+ stitches to his face, snapped '01 Marzocchi Super Ts & a obliterated blood filled full face helmet.

We hope the voucher helps with the purchase of a new helmet - get well soon Whale

Yea we sorted some sponsorship from R&R for a time run at the end of the Club shuttle day. weather turned a bit crap and those that were left wernt too fussed about racing.

We decided to hand the prizes back since the event got cancelled , we mentioned johns bad luck (crash on first run) and they were keen make sure one person got a spot prize.

pretty cool of them i reckon.

Good effort on the forks! I've never been down that track but it must've been one hell of a huck.
