Retro Stem Advice Sought

Postby musket on Wed 4/Nov/09 9:08pm

I've recently acquired a stem for a bike I'm building up for my girl. I'm planning on polishing it back to glory, but note that it uses a "female" type bolt to clamp the bar. It didn't arrive with the bolt, and it's not a femal seat binder either.

Does anyone have any ideas as to where I can get such a bolt?

You can see the "male" component.

So there's a bolt inset into there? A Campag seatbolt doesn't work? That's odd...I'll do some research.

It's an inset bolt, with a phillips type head set in to it, but it's fixed, and not removeable.

It's for an italian steel frame I've got hanging up here. I've got a pair of nice campy brakes, cranks and a Ti post for it, and I'll use the Colnago / Time star threaded fork I've been hoarding (in it's box).

Should make a nice townie for l'ucellino.

Actually, send it to me - I'm sort of okay at figuring this kind of thing out once I get my hands on them.
