The add ons for Fallout 3 were hit and miss, and really buggy. I enjoyed Broken Steel though. I don't know what to expect with BioShock 2.

I liked The Pitt too.

Have played all the F3 DLC except for the zombie one... I felt pretty ripped off by all of them tbh.

I see New Vegas is coming.... I'l probably still buy it, 'cause I'm an addict.

(currently playing Fallout:tactics on the PC and loving it).

also just d/l'd the BFBC2 demo on the ps3 ... looks like fun and something new as BF1943 is getting a bit tired now...

the zombie one?

do you mean point lookout with the rednecks?

of the dlcs point lookout was the best in terms of added quests etc imo, but broken steel is a must to fix the level cap. Pitt was okay, anchorage and mothership zeta were a bit on the poo side

Had I a try on that yesterday, pretty cool, I hope the full version will cost the same as BF 1943, which I still enjoy playing.

Has anyone downloaded vidzone yet? I have, but unable to see/ hear the music play. just a black screen with the counter on 0:00 I do get the ads for Facebook and the track listings though. Maybe I need ultra fast broadband

Ok, I want one of those. Been thinking a netbook might be a good call... But a netbook that can play Mass Effect 2 with all the bells and whistles cranked to the max?! Kick ass!! And only $2K, pretty good deal maing.

The average framerate for Mass Effect 2 at max specs on our M11x was around 45 frames-per-second, although at times it reached up to 50 or 60 frames per second.

fallout new vegas info out

http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog ... nes_emerge

scanned articles amongst the comments, general sumaori

# There is an optional hardcore mode, the character needs to drink water, ammo has weight, healing isn't instant etc. Normal mode is more similar to Fallout 3 gameplay.
# Vegas didn't get many nukes. More intact buildings, as well as desert vegetation. Vegas itself is mostly intact.
# The storyline is focused on the New California Republic vs. Caesar's Legion vs. New Vegas residents.
# You are not a vault dweller but are given a Pip-Boy by someone who is one. You are a courier, left for dead and saved by a friendly robot.
# There is a screenshot of a vault suit as well.
# There is an assault rifle looking like the M4, as well as a new machine gun that shoots grenades.
# There are special moves for melee weapons in VATS - specifically a move for a golf club called "Fore!" which seems to be a groin shot.
# The Hoover Dam is in the game and is supplying electricity to the city.
# There is a quest to rescue a ghoul from some super mutants. The ghoul can then become your companion
# The Geckos are back.
# There are both dumb and intelligent super mutants, including the elite Nightkin.
# Some super mutants look similar to the ones in Fallout 3, while others are new. There is e.g. a female super mutant with a blonde 1950s style wig and heart-shaped glasses who apparently is one of their leaders.
# Screenshots include a guy with a beard and straw hat, a ghoul an NCR Ranger
# The only picture of New Vegas itself is concept art and not a screenshot
# Some location screenshots include a huge model dinosaur advertising a hotel, some satellite dishes, an array of solar panels
# A character generation shot showing a "vigour machine" instead of the skill book
# NCR base is the McCarran Airport, Caesar's Legion is based in the Vegas Strip, while super mutants are based in a place called Black Mountain. There is also a town called Fremont and another called Primm. A topless reuve is mentioned as being in the latter. Area 51 also appears.
# NCR Ranger armor is similar to a brown combat armor with sleeves, there are concept arts of a Ranger
# Skills have a bigger effect on conversation choices. E.g. someone with a high Explosives skill may be able to have a coversation about explosives where appropriate.
# Bartering is not just lower prices but negotiating for better rewards.
# All dialogue options are shown to all players, regardless of whether you have the stats to succeed or not, though there's no punishment for failure.
# There is a Reputation system for each settlement like in Fallout 2 in adition to Karma.
# Followers can be managed through a context-sensitive menu, with orders like "follow", "stay" or "attack"

Don't know if I want a ghoul as a companion, but I guess it could help me with my golf swing

Yep, I know what you mean exactly and I agree - Broken Steel is easily the most appealing to me - Point Lookout is a fun add-on - nice and tough and challenging. The Pitt kind of appeals, but I'm going to have a go at it "Rambo style" and see if I can simply fight my way through the entire thing (I don't like games that force you to lose all your stuff - so I'll see how I can "work around" that). I've had a couple of goes using that approach and it usually ends in tears about 10 minutes after the entrance bridge, as I start running out of ammo for big guns. I've played it "properly" too and quite enjoyed mincing people with that rotating blade weapon. Haven't finished it though.

Bioshock 2's getting very good reviews:
PC: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/bioshock2
PS3: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/bioshock2
360: http://www.metacritic.com/games/platfor ... /bioshock2

Pretty much the same scores on all 3, with useful comments in some reviews on the differences in game mechanics (minimal - sounds like it's just been slightly improved in certain areas).
I'm keen to play it, but I have the problem of too many games and not enough time. I've been slowly sinking into Arma 2 over the last couple of months and enjoying that more and more. Definitely worth a look - esp. if you like creating your own content (needs to be patched to at least 1.05 on the PC to get the most out of it). And if you like Submarine sims, I recommend Real Fleet Boat running on Silent Hunter 4.
