As many had predicted (feared) Rik's squad came romping back to win the stage, take the overall victory, and claim the right to wear the Yellow Jersey until next years Tour. gydey hung for second and great uncle bulgaria kept third despite a valiant effort by Kev to get back on the podium. Taintedmeat was one of the biggest losers of the final stage. He failed to put a single rider in the top 25 places and, as a result, falls from the silver medal postion down to 5th spot.

Chapeau Rik for the win and a game well played. Also gydey and GUB for challenging hard and making the podium.

My own performance this year was about as great as a Thibault Pinot mountain descent. :(

Congrats Rik and all the others and thanks for a great game. I cant remember a comp being so close and the top 10 within 160 points. Sleep time

This.

Turns out I should probably not pick my team based on who I like...

Mine too. I'm still wondering what the hell I was on when I picked my team

Nice work Rik

That was the best race I've had for ages and I'm taking about real races in the real world. Super amounts of fun, thanks you everyone competing, especially everyone who caught/overtook me yesterday. It was a very nervous sleep for me last night, I can tell you.

Still not sure if "staff" should be allowed to compete, I feel very awkward handing out a jersey to myself, it smacks of insider trading.

I think Kev got the points system spot on, infact I may suggest to Christian Prudhomme to use our points system next year.

Big thanks to Kev and Rik for running this
The fact that the 'big four' got to battle it out in the mountains made for the spectacle that we missed out on last year.
Biggest downer was the Froomey urine-gate thing.

As for Vfr it was most entertaining, with many teams yo-yo-ing up and down in the last few days, gydeys climbing team in particular. Unfortunately my yo-yo ended up on a downer, after a while on the podium. :hmmm:

I picked Alberto Contador to win the next stage Tour :D

Well done Rik. You won fair and square. I can assure you, if there was any "staff" bonus, it would have favoured me a lot more than you.

Thanks Kev and Rik for all the donkey work in putting it all together etc, and well done Rik for the win. I'm sure there's a bit of sibling rivilary between you two to make sure there wasn't any doctoring up of the results in your favour.
Agree with Gydey about how close it all panned out to be, and the big charges by the climber based teams near the end made the see-saw results all that more interesting.

Many thanks for the comp. Really does give another dimension to the tour. Unfortunately I was expecting to pick up not many points today, although Team Sky could have tried a bit harder at the end!

Rik, I was relying on all your riders to DNF!

I must say I expected team 500 to do a little better, at least beat the vorb monkey (although it did make some good picks).

One of the better TDFs in recent years. Although the final GC result was never in much doubt after the 1st mountain stage, the racing was interesting most days. Not too many processions with a break up the road chased down in the final 50km for a bunch finish.

I still maintain that a lower points limit would force people to go beyond the obvious picks. More than half the teams contained Froome, Quintana, Contador, Sagan and Nibali so the difference at the top of the comp came down to the 'domestiques' and stage picks. If the rules said pick 5 riders excluding roome, Quintana, Contador, Sagan and Nibali the the results probably would have been the same.

Thanks heaps rik and kev. That was really well done.
Previously a team of GC candidates was always going to win but clearly the new system worked well to open up the possibilities.

This was staggering, leaving only 2 days before the real TDF didn't leave him any margin for extra rest days!
When he first started knocking off the hills successfully I thought to myself, wonder if you could 'Everest' on one of those things? This report says he's actually planning to do it in September, 9.5 laps of Alp d'Huez!
