Also just for encouragment, my old man has broken his back twice, second time was at the 2002 DNT race, after that was told he'd never walk again, yet he still races MTBs (and walks perfectly fine)
Edit: Cateye Moonride, not DNT

All the best, Sheryl. You truly are a survivor. Hope you feel ok... and we can watch you in Canberra winning Gold. But don't worry if you are still recovering. Your health comes first.

All the best Sheryl  and thanks Tama for keeping us in the picture ;)

Q: would a neck brace have stopped this injury ?

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your awesome posts, messages, cards and gifts. Your encouragement and advice is hugely appreciated - I can feel the healing vibes heading my way!

It's really great to be home. Have been walking every day in the park and am feeling better each day. I have to wear a neck brace for a few weeks, then will get an xray to check how the front of my spine has healed. I may need plates and screws added in another operation but will just wait and see.

Thanks for the advice DaViking. It looks as if I have all the right people in contact with me, Ear Nose and Throat specialists, the concussion clinic, physio, neuro-type people, GP, ACC, occupational therapists...and my future xrays will be sent the experts at Burwood for their analysis. With all that I have no excuses for not getting better fast!

I hope you are all having fun in the sun on your wheels. I will be out there with you just as soon as I can!

Thanks
Sheryl

Sucks to be out injured, especially when it is as potentially serious as this... best wishes on a speedy recovery.

Awesome Sheryl sounds like ya got it all going, and really positive which is really good good!
The neck brace is a pain this time of year but you'll have something to look forward to getting that off in a few weeks!

Be well, keep up the good spirits & walking, day by day!

And you'll be back doing what you want in no time I'm sure!

all the best!
