"Funky cold Modena" I really like the look of the Ferrari replica. Ít'll end up being an expensive car but a reliable daily driver that really does look the part (and with 5 speed V6 3000 it'll go well too).

Used to be one that parked up near my friends house as a youngster, even then we knew they weren't much chop motorwise, more flash than dash but they looked awesome.

I wouldn't touch the fakie fezza.. You might be surprised how cheap they are overseas (around NZ$40k) for a Ferrari 360. Knock 10% off if you want the 355 which has the same engine.
I would be more inclined to go down the other path, find a crashed ferrari 360/355 and then put it into a shitty french car.
