Im quite amazed I cant get anything on any TV channel or Radio channel at this point in time.
Latest geonet update shows Tauranga sea level has headed up, and just started to dip, much like Gisbornes has, and Stuff has just updated with a report of all roads to the beach in Gisborne being blocked off after the sea level has dropped.

Matua is protected, what about us over at the Mount?

Radio NZ has nothing but the tsunami at the moment... should be somewhere around 101.7 fm.

gisborne has dropped a metre below normal.

movement in Chats is about 2 m fluctuation now.

where are you MrBob?

News just confirmed that the Chathams has hit 1.5m - might be time to think about heading to higher ground ( I live in New Brighton ).
If it hits around 11am which corresponds with low tide then it would be best case scenario I would think, assuming it only pushes through for a short time.

Sea in Chch is freakishly low now, not seen it like that could walk on the beach to the end of the pier I think

will be interesting to see how far it comes back in. low tide anyway, so prob wont come in much.
