As long as the meat wasn't seared, that could be unpleasant.

Anyhoo, after I cleaned the mould farm out of my bbq from it sitting on the lawn sucking moisture up under the cover while the filthy immigrants took an inordinate amount of time to finish my new patio, I just got it fucking hot and oiled the shit out of the cast bits, seems to have done the trick.

if you feel manly cooking in what is basicly a gas heated frying pan, up to you, I'm not about to stop you :p

So just to clarify, all gas BBQs are gas heated frying pans, and are used by pussies?
I'm still struggling with the distinction that you're trying to make :eh:

A couple of months back I discovered this
http://www.bunnings.co.nz/char-griller-deluxe-bbq_p03180388

Char-Griller Deluxe BBQ, a great price and the build quality is surprisingly good too. A few mods like trimming the ends of the bolts and the ends of rack underneath and its mint!

I've been using it for small cooks 2-3 times a week and found it easy to control with the vents and height adjustable charcoal plate.

It takes about and extra 10mins to get the coals going as opposed to the instant flick of the gas but If you want to get away from the gas small and taste I can thoroughly recommend this!

Heaps of room on the grill if needed....check
Warming rack under hood....check
Easy to use and great tasting BBQ's...check!

My 2 cents :)

That's strange, because I'd align that definition with an unhooded BBQ? Or do you mainly fry stuff with the lid on your frying pan?
pfft frying pan  but you clearly you do

Just cooked two mean roasts in my Weber. First was two boned lamb legs, second was a full leg of hogget. Both were frikking amazing - pretty mean for a frying pan

I made some pan roasted pork loin a week or so back, I didn't even need a lid for my frying pan.

Highly recommend going Weber on gas as well. I know I'll get ridiculed for it, but ours is the shiz. Gets used all the time, cooks exceptionally well. Expensive but worth it IMHO.

Ryda will be along soon to tell me it's not a bbq.
