Haha Ski...:-)

Yes Tino has a daughter Melanie, but they never lived in NZ. She came over one summer to train and try and make the Dutch Junior Worlds team...I coached her during her stay.

I met up with his family in Holland in 2004 and his wife Mika told me many interesting stories, as did his offspring Paul and Melanie. Will be interesting to read the book, and as kids when he came back to NZ he would bring all his racing jersies for all the Hornby riders to buy... shot, showing my age now :sly:

Its a real shame when NZ cycling have chsoen over the years not to try and get Tino back involved as his experience is invaluable.

I read this book a week or so ago. A fantastic read and insight into one of NZ's finest racer's time in Europe.

Cheers!

Got the book for Christmas, and read it on the plane to Melbourne.
A fascinating read about a man who's life was a real roller coaster, I would recommend it to anyone interested in cycling or just reading a good tale.

:) There is a full page feature article on Tino in todays Herald. Its a good read on its own. The book is listed for sale with it - hopefully that will push up sales.

Tried to get it through PaperPlus and they denied any knowledge of it's existance. Same thing happened when I went into a Whitcoulls store.

Idiots - I bet they had it but didn't know ehere to look.

The number on the whitcoulls price sticker is "672256 F Y11" or "11 77986922" if any help Whitcouls trying to track it down.

ISBN 978 -0-9582673-1-1
