Thanks boys, yeah it was tough and it was epic, but I really enjoyed it even when it was hurting lots. I did feel pretty sorry for the big guy I saw pushing a Stinky up one of the hills, talk about wrong bike for the job!

Brilliant story Tink. But I'm gonna wait and see how things pan out regarding the start of the last sentence (having said such similar things in the past myself).

That right there, that's what it's all about eh ;)

Well done  It was a tough day ay but you did awesome. Seeing your photo's made me realise you were camped just in front of us I think. Bugger, if I had have known I would have come over for a yak. How's the shanks today ?

Bugger! Shanks are very unhappy. I don't think 20 minutes of high intensity sprinting is very good for recovery the day after the Molesworth. How was your ride?

Sprinting ? Were you on fire or had you just stolen something ?

I was pretty happy. I beat last years time by 5 minutes and punctured twice so I'm taking that as a win. I must smell tho coz I did pretty much the whole thing on my own. Across the flat I don't think there was anyone within 100 yards of me  My mate who rode with us beat his last years time by 35 minutes !!!!! How's that into that wind.

35 mins! Nice, I was just over 20 mins better. NIce one riding that whole thing alone, man that would have sucked so bad! I did the first short track race yesterday. That XCguy, he knows how to inflict the hurt. :p

As I rode to work with a chilly headwind this morning, I tried to picture doing that for a further 60km, over rough terrain and I just couldn't! Much kudos TInk and to improve your time as well shows just how much you've improved. Inspirational!

No such thing as hills and headwinds.

all roads are flat, hills are flat roads that point up, head winds are hills you cannot see, so all roads are flat roads

You're good for remembering my "gameplan"...it was all a gasping blur to me!! Next time I race that track with you I'ma borrow Lisa's felt.

Thanks so much for hanging out with me and waiting for me at the bottom of the trails whilst I tried to negotiate all those shitty corners!!
