This is the result of getting hit by a car that ran a red light last Friday and struck me full on. I'm rather lucky with only a couple of broken ribs, a bruised lung and cracked pelvis. Today is the first day the pain has been under control.

Nice tat, is it an upside down flower?

Thanks, tis the sun, with a large viney kind of thing coming out from it that goes high up my back.

I'm trying to raise awareness of what it is like to be hit by a car in the vague hope that less people will run red lights. Please share this to help.

Far out that sounds absolutely terrible. Hope things are getting better day by day for ya

Thanks Dents, the physical stuff is going well and I should be back at work on monday, but the mental stuff is a bit more of a battle. Getting to sleep is a bit of a prob that needs to be sorted for me to go back to work. I'm hoping this post will help.

Don't be silly, 'tis only bikes that run red lights, countless drivers have told me so...

Heal well, cracked pelvis does not sound good.

So sad to hear, esp about one who loves the sport so much. Heal well and heal strong!

Well done on popping your Rapaki cherry again! (is that the right terminology? I'm never sure)
Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed the ride, looked like cracking weather for it too.

Enjoyed reading your blog; I hadn't heard the tale of your crash before. It will be food for my thoughts on the commute tomorrow :(

Thank you Mr Slapheid and yes I believe the terminology is correct, and I could elaborate on the metaphor but that would make the natives restless. :satan:

All I want to do now is ride, must not go crazy and damage my fragile health! But a gentle spin to Sumner seems like a good idea.

Oh dear Tinkerbell, How refreshing to see you writing again and riding. How refreshing to see after all you've been through. Inspiring. Just resting along. I like that. As Oli said, if you're enjoying it thats all that matters. Everything else will come with time. :)
