crossing timing pad across the river at start versus gun time....results are done on gun time.

Huge Kudos to the age grade record breakers too....60+ women's new record of 3:47!!!??? amazing!

Great ride by T-Rex yesterday. Just too strong. We certainly didn't want to let him get away! We were just powerless to stop the big turbo diesel.

What I found really interesting was the variety of bikes on podium yesterday. Certainly no podium hogging by any brand. By my count 10 brands rerpresented in top 10 men/top 5 women. Fullys, Hardtails, Big wheels, small wheels, alloy, carbon...... It's just like Lance said.... "its not about the bike"

I agree.

after the exceptional ability of a rider, I'd say componentry and tyres would do more than most level frames. it's like Nick Willis saying thanks nike for getting me to silver...unless he's obliged by sponsorship deals.

But sponsors being proud of their bikes on the podium is as old as cycling, nothing wrong with that. And I didn't see Stylie say anywhere that they only won because they were riding Santa Cruz, just that they both were riding them - fair enough, I reckon. Don't kill the buzz, man. :eh:

Also how do you know that on that day the product in question didn't factor in the equation.

I'd like to thank NIKE as well :D

I think its ALL about the bike. I would have been screwed if not for the high caliber of my bike.

Haha, they don't make em like they used to do they??

Maybe the mechanics deserve more kudos than the frame then?

I did notice both thanking their mechanisto's esp Tim.
