By the quality of the work i am wondering if the new line was even approved by the Rangers, or if someone has just taken it upon themselves to hack a new line??

I mean it is not at all in keeping with the rest of that track?? Not benched, will have people braking hard in a straight line and so will rut and hole out very quickly, and it does not flow into the next corner??

Don't worry too much... It is still a work in progress. It was put in because too many people were nearly losing their heads riding under that step down. It seemed like a good way to put a nana line around the step down at the time but just too dodgy. People riding round the step down cant be trusted to look and stop for straight liners and straight liners cant be trusted to give people in front of them room!

The new line will get tidied up and made to work a little better but unfortunately the second drop wont be doable by riding around the first one anymore. You can do the new drop nearer the end!!!

Sesame St. is getting thrashed. Any keen volunteers out there to go re-surface the track?

good to hear it is still work in progress Ash! I thought the danger of the tracks crossing was probably the reason for the change.

I'd be keen to help one weekend when i dont have work. The two switchbacks before the retaining wall drop in old nats and the last corner after the drop need some work too.

I will add it to the todo list. We try to leave the DH tracks alone and let them be more natural, but if a part has become unrideable or dangerous then it will need to be fixed...

Its not a huge job. Id say two people could get it done in one dig session easily. The two switch backs arnt too bad, just a bit rutted. The last corner is really rutted from people being hard on the brakes into it so there are some rocks sticking out the side at rim height. Getting rid of those would probably let it wash out more so it would fix itself. Ill mention it at the next dig day if i can get there :)
