Not tried any of the Bruichladdich, but enjoy a peaty whisky. Currently have one of these on the go:

and a second one tucked away for when the 18 dries up....

Speaking of Islay, just picked up a Bowmore I'd not seen before duty free the other day. Looking forward to trying it.

Love all the Islay malts...

I do love Laphraoig.
I have had the opportunity to pass through duty free a few times recently so I also have one of these handy...

I havent tried Bowmore yet. I find myself strangely suspicious of whisky with english sounding names....

The An Cuan Mor is amazing,I loved it.

My wife got me a couple of bottles in a duty free deal earlier in the year. I had a deal with her that she had to get me a bottle whenever she was away. For a while she was away a few times a month so the cupboards are well stocked.

I've never been taken by Bowmore, but I think I only have had cheap ones.

I regard Bowmore as one of the least challenging Islays. It's one you can serve up to someone who only ever drinks lowland or blended malts and they don't wince at the smokiness or turpentine notes

While on the topic the 2017 LAPHROAIG CAIRDEAS is reviewing well and available from tomorrow in a first come first served basis

In the past it's been ballot only but doesn't appear that way this year.

Woo hoo after three weeks of getting dicked around by my doctors (cant seem to be able to send relevant requested documents to ACC) and ACC (who seem to think that tearing a tendon and a lump of bone out in your shoulder is possibly a "congenital" defect due to abnormal wear and age???) .The good folks at ACC have now decided upon taking advice from their specialist again (after being asked nicely to have another look)that it would seem to be the result of a violent twisting motion that detached the tendon from its appointed place (duh) ,and they will now commence being helpful and paying my missing wages etc.
