There is a discussion about how we should go about mining in Kevin's post. You have just chosen to ignore it. In fact, most of his post is a discussion of how we should go about mining.
Sure, his post is part idealogical manifesto... But if you REALLY want to see whacko idealogical manifesto, take a quick squizz at Gerry the Hutt and Donkey Johnkey's latest. I think it goes something like this: "Hey, lets dig up national parks and sell 'em off cheap! That'll learn those red commie bastards! Dollars for everyone!!! (...by everyone I mean people who are my mates, and only those who are already filthy stinking rich...)"
You're right... I'm not perfect. I love electronics, cars, bike bling, air travel and loads of other stuff that isn't great for the environment... But I can sure as hell see that digging holes in our most precious and important conservation land is completely retarded, short sighted and harmful. I feel ashamed for and I pity anyone whos greed means they can't appreciate why this is so.

I think he is trying to find out where all this 'mininga' activity that kevin spoke about is going to be happening, so he can join in ? or he is just trying to dudge the real issue.Oli wrote:What's your theory? Why is any conservation land important?

...because the tourism industry might be a mighty handy backstop when the dairy industry gets fucked over.
