Nah he's not. Thats a freakin ideological manifesto there not a discussion about how we should do our mining.

OTOH I don't want to see conservation land wrecked either.

Come on Babs if there was gold under your house, you'd dig it up sell it and buy a 50" Plasma wouldn't you?

The gold isn't under my house. It's under irreplaceable highly fragile conservation land. Slight difference.

There is a discussion about how we should go about mining in Kevin's post. You have just chosen to ignore it. In fact, most of his post is a discussion of how we should go about mining.

Sure, his post is part idealogical manifesto... But if you REALLY want to see whacko idealogical manifesto, take a quick squizz at Gerry the Hutt and Donkey Johnkey's latest. I think it goes something like this: "Hey, lets dig up national parks and sell 'em off cheap! That'll learn those red commie bastards! Dollars for everyone!!! (...by everyone I mean people who are my mates, and only those who are already filthy stinking rich...)"

You're right... I'm not perfect. I love electronics, cars, bike bling, air travel and loads of other stuff that isn't great for the environment... But I can sure as hell see that digging holes in our most precious and important conservation land is completely retarded, short sighted and harmful. I feel ashamed for and I pity anyone whos greed means they can't appreciate why this is so.

Further, ideology isn't inherently a bad thing. There are ideologies being pushed on all sides of this issue, the trick is which one to follow.

I hate idiot letters editors in the press who keep printing these farkin stupid letters that always include "i saw a cyclist . . .blah blah . . . . rant against cyclist in general cos some dwad went though a red light in blatantly in front of traffic and THEN you get idiots who respond to any mention of cyclists getting killed by drunk idiot fwits with . . "i saw a cyclist without a helmet yesterday" as if thats some sort of excuse for pricks running over cyclists killing them and driving off, or just the farkin day to day carnage from drivers NOT FUCKIN LOOKING properly for cyclists and cutting them off, opening their doors abusing for existing and all the other shit. BUT at least the farkin editors of newspapers could print just a little something that adds something intelligent to a discussion about how to farkin SHARE THE ROAD instead of this inane dribble about how people saw this or that. I mean for allahs, yawehs, buddhas and any bloody other deities sake can people not realise that all groups of road users balls up things for other all the bloody time BUT CYCLIST GET KILLED FAR MORE EASILY and we ALL NEED to SHARE THE ROAD but cyclist get iINJURED MAIMED AND KILLED disproportionately. AND a cyclist life in a hit and run has the value of 1 years home detention - The farkin Judiciary in this country needs a mighty big enema cos as far as i can tell they have shit for brains.

I feel better now :paranoid:

Jump of your high horse and explain why this conservation land you talk of is so precious and important (looking at it and riding your bike on it doesn't count, coz that's not important)

I think he is trying to find out where all this 'mininga' activity that kevin spoke about is going to be happening, so he can join in ? or he is just trying to dudge the real issue.

Well, when the world finally does stop drinking milk and eating cheese, if we open-cast mine the fuck out of these places, tourists will have nice new lakes to go swimming in when they get here. Problem solved. :)
