Great story, good on him
Hope his new bike doesn't prevent him going it up there for fear of it being stolen :paranoid:

Wow - that's fantastic. Great work by the "Unknown Trail Builder" and everyone who sorted a new bike for him!

One word - nice

Faith in human nature - restored

Nice! I used to see him everywhere in Christchurch, I get the feeling he does more K's on a bike than 99.99% of anyone else in that town, never knew he worked on the trails though, awesome

:)

How about a nomination for the cycle-friendly awards too? There's a few people around the country who have put heaps of work into building tracks for us, but who are seldom acknowledged.

yeah have seen Ian biking around lots over the years, seems like he pedals all over CHCH. never knew he helped out up the hill, so good on ya Ian.

Also good on Basic Bikes...fimilar theme with these guys, broke my hand at the NZ DH Open and took my bike to the guys to fix the rear brake and rear wheel. picked it up and they had fixed my creaky bottom bracket and didn't charge me for it! did they feel sorry for me...who knows but again good on Basic Bikes

That has to be one of the coolest stories if not the best story I have read all year, Just goes to show what goes round comes round Ian gets a brand new bike and the F#$@ prick that stolen such a nice person's bike will get what is coming to them too.

I sure hope so.
With all the bikes that get stolen there you'd think that the police would be onto a lead somewhere. NOt picking on our boys and girls in blue but it does seem that bike theft in ChCh is rampant.
