I has builded my singlespeed roadie :thumbsup:
Frame is a well used tange 900 Avanti Sprint, thought about painting it but decided to go with the weathered look.
Original exage action crankset with shimano MX15 flats until I sort some pedals, and shimano R550 wheelset. Doing this on the cheap so bars chopped down and existing brake levers relocated, 44-15 gearing and old leather velo saddle because that's what I had lying around the garage and job done.

Newly powdercoated and with new(old) cranks. Now it just needs some more chainring bolts.

Theoretically its a 2 speed, but you can only use one at a time, having to loosen nuts, manually shift chain, straighten wheel and re-tension chain, tighten nuts.
town = 35:16
hill = 30:21

FUN.
Pretty mad, but really very cool. Boingy. Insanely awesome traction, except strangely when standing in the pedal cranking up a steep loose section, back tread spins out a little. Sitting no worries, but singlespeed you gotta stand sometimes, right? Descending and flowy stuff, get your air pressure right and its a total blast. The best rigid bike i've ever ridden. I'll definitely own one sometime. It shined most on rough loose pineforest singletrack, boinging over rock piles and roots, while sticking to the ground like gum. Hit the road, pump up the tires to 20psi and they're firm as. Would be insane at 30. You would worry, i think, about racking up too many road miles on tires that cost that much, but they seem like they'd last pretty well.

Its a lot lighter than you'd expect it to be too, that was something all my riding buddies commented on too.

Why does Single speeding start as a cheap way to ride over winter, but then turns into an all year thing with constant upgrades.

Though I would ride my SS 100x more than my trail bike :(
